Birthday Fishes - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #429

Hello, friends!  It's time for a new Wednesday Sketch Challenge from MFT Stamps!  This week is a really fun sketch!

I don't usually use a lot of triangles on my cards, so this week's challenge was a bit out of my comfort zone.  That being said, I'm really happy that I pushed myself and was happy with how it turned out.  That's the whole point of the challenge, to get out of your crafting comfort zone and try something new!

I started by blending some Distress Inks (Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers, Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord, and Chipped Sapphire) onto a sheet of Distress Watercolor Paper.  I then spritzed this panel with water and patted it dry with a paper towel.  I love the look that this technique gives to your ink blending.

I used the Triangle STAX Die-namics to cut out my triangle shapes from my ink-blended panel.

I then glued them to the base of my card, following the pattern of the sketch.  Once finished, I stamped my sentiment with Black Ink.  All of my images from the BB Gill Friends Stamp Set were stamped with Copic friendly Black Ink, colored with Copic Sketch Markers and cut out using their coordinating dies.

Lastly, I added some clear drops for some added interest.

I encourage you to come play along with this week's sketch!  Head on over to the MFT Challenge & Inspiration Blog to get some more inspiration from the rest of the team.  Every entry that you submit earns you the chance to win a randomly selected $50 MFT Gift Voucher!

Thanks for stopping by today!  If you liked this card and want some more crafty inspiration, don't forget to check out my INSTAGRAM feed!

Wishing you all a happy Wednesday!
