Hello friends! I have a beautiful and brand new die set to share with you today from Whimsy Stamps called Up in the Clouds. This set is so versatile! It can be used on all types of cards and mixed and matched with so many other sets. (Affiliate links used)
When I first saw this set, I immediately thought of a sunrise or sunset at the beach. I wanted to showcase the birds and the clouds over a tranquil-looking ocean. I decided to try this by watercoloring my background scene. I'm by no means an expert at watercoloring and I usually just move the paint around on my paper until I achieve what I'm looking for.
I used a sheet of Ranger Inkssentials White Watercolor Paper and applied some Kurtake Gansai Tambi Watercolors.
Colors Used:
Sky:
34 Dark Pink mixed with 10 White
139 Purple
42 Bright Yellow
50 Pale Aqua
61 Cornflower Blue
Ocean:
50 Pale Aqua
52 Ocean Green
55 Green
I then trimmed a piece of white card stock to 5.5" x 5.5" and diecut a large circle into the center using the second to largest die from the new Pierced and Stitched Circles Die Set. I then used that same die combined with the largest circle die to diecut a beautiful circular frame to surround my image.
Prior to piecing everything together, I diecut the pieces from the Up in the Clouds Die Set from white card stock and glued them onto my watercolored background. Lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment from the Bunny Balloons Stamp Set onto black card stock with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder. I then diecut this piece using the Quick Strips Die Set.
