Hello, friends! I hope your week has been off to a good start! I have a fun shaker card to share with you today featuring three awesome new products from the MFT March release.
How many of you have found it difficult to make a large window shaker card in the past? Maybe the shaker embellishment is too bulky to fit behind the acetate window or you have trouble creating the needed 3D frame (whether using foam tape or stacked diecuts).
I may have the answer for you! The new A2 Rectangle Shaker Pouches make creating full-panel shaker cards soooooo easy!!
They actually fit almost the entire area of a standard A2 sized card (4.25" x 5.5"). Once you add the coordinating frame, (using the largest die from the A2 Rectangle Frame Die-namics), the entire panel will then be covered, creating a large and gorgeous shaker card.
Today, I'm sharing what I did to create a rainy background with "rain" inside the window panel. To start, I first blended some Distress Inks (Milled Lavender, Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, and Chipped Sapphire) onto a piece of Distress Watercolor Paper. I then splattered some water on top of it to give the ink blending some more interest.
Once this panel was dry, I then used the new Mini Staggered Raindrops Stencil and spread some Faber Castel Texture Luxe Paste in Pearl on top.
I love how the raindrops look using texture paste! They are slightly 3D which really adds a cool look to your rainy backdrops.
Once I had everything ready, I simply glued my images (colored with Copics) and grass to the rainy panel which I had attached to an A2 sized card base.
I then poured my embellishments loosely near the center of the card. I was careful not to let the shaker embellishments near the edges of the card so that they wouldn't impede with the shaker frame when I glued it into place.
Once my window was glued on top of my card panel, I simply added the frame with some more liquid adhesive. No fuss and no mess.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Make sure to head on over to the MFT Blog to see what Tips & Tricks the rest of the participating team members have to share with you today!
