Double Panel Winter Shaker Card - Whimsy Stamps Guest Design

Hello everyone!  I'm so excited to be guest designing for Whimsy Stamps this month!  If you are not familiar with their designs, they have a lot of super cute images for almost any occasion.  For my card today, I used one of their newer stamp sets called Bundled Up.

I love this cute little stamp set, especially that sweet little bunny that is pictured here looking up at his friend.  I decided to create a double panel shaker card to create depth and dimension to my wintery scene.  I first learned about double shaker panel designs from THIS great tutorial by Jennifer McGuire a few years ago.

To start, I first created my background sky by blending a few Distress Inks (Milled Lavender, Seedless Preserves, and Dusty Concord).  I then spritzed this panel lightly with water and let it dry.  Once completely dry, I heat embossed some wintery-white trees from the Bundled Up Stamp Set on the horizon.  I then masked these off and added some snow by using the Polka Dot Stencil combined with some Snowflake Paste.  I also added a few more "snow" dots with a white gel pen.

For the frame of my card, I used the largest stitched square die from the Shaker Maker Combo Die Set in multiple layers in order to create the depth that I needed to get the multiple layers.  The stitching on this die is just gorgeous and I love the detailed effect that it gives to the outer frame of my card.  For the snowy pine trees, I used some of the trees from the Christmas Scene Builder Rubber Stamp Set and stamped them with green ink.  I then cut them out and added some "snow" to them again using my white gel pen.

For my stitched snow drifts, I used the Stitched Border Dies Trio and placed them a different depths in my shaker card.  To make this a double-panel shaker card, there are actually three layers of acetate on this card with shaker elements (I used Diamond Dust) in between each one.

For my colored images, I stamped them onto smooth white card stock, colored with Copic Sketch Markers and then cut them out.
