Hello friends! I'm back with some more MFT goodies today! I get to share with you a card that I made using the newest Birdie Brown Stamp Set! Woo Hoo!
It's called "Saddle Up & Celebrate" and it's just so cute! For my card today, I just used the little boy and put him in front of a western sunset. I first stamped my images onto smooth white card stock with Copic friendly black ink and then colored him with my Copic Sketch Markers. I then used the coordinating dies to cut my image out.
I then worked on the background of the card. To create my silhouettes, I used THIS technique shown by Jennifer McGuire sometime last year. I absolutely love this technique! I highly recommend that you watch her video tutorial if you've never seen it before.
I first lightly outlined some Ranger White Watercolor paper with one of the Oval Die-namics. I then stamped some cacti from the Llama Love Stamp Set. I then drew in some hills.
Next, I colored everything in with a Black Copic Marker. Once it was dry, I then went over everything in black with a clear Versamark Ink Marker and then heat embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. You could use black embossing powder but it can get a little bit messy when trying to stay in the lines.
I then used some watercolors and loosely painted what I thought looked like a sunset.
For the base of my card, I stamped a 4.25"x5.5" piece of Kraft Card Stock with some Chocolate Brown Premium Dye Ink. I then diecut my oval into this piece using the Oval Die-namics. I heat embossed my sentiment with Super Fine Detail White Embossing Powder and used foam tape to adhere it to the base of my card. Lastly, I added my cowboy with some 3D Foam Squares and also added some plants from the Llama Love Stamp Set for some added interest.
