PI Sweet Summertime | MFT Stamps May Release Countdown Day 3

Hello!  We are halfway through the May Release Countdown from MFT Stamps!  I hope you have enjoyed all of the previews so far!  Today, I am sharing with you the latest stamp set from the Pure Innocence Collection called Sweet Summertime.

I just love this sweet image of this little girl eating her watermelon!  I went all out with a watermelon theme and first created a green striped background to resemble the outer part of a watermelon rind.  To do this I first blended some Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink onto a section of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock.  Once dry, I then stamped the BG Watercolor Background Stripes Stamp onto this sheet with some Field Day Premium Dye Ink.

I then created the red portion of my card by blending some Candied Apple Distress Oxide Ink onto a smaller strip of Neenah Card Stock.  Once this piece was dry, I then used the new Mini Staggered Circles Stencil to blend some small black dots onto this sheet with some Black Soot Distress Ink.  Once complete, I then diecut this piece with one of the A2 Stitched Rectangle Die-namics.

I diecut another piece from Smooth White Card Stock, also using the A2 Stitched Rectangle Dies.  I then pieced this all together and went to work on my image.  I stamped my image onto another strip of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored her with Copics.  I used the coordinating die to cut her out and then adhered her to my card base with some 3D Foam Adhesive Squares.

I heat embossed part of my sentiment from the Sweet Sentiments Stamp Set onto a piece of Black Licorice Card Stock with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder.  I then used one of the new Skinny Strips Die-namics to cut it out.  I also added the word "Sweet" using the Sweet Die-namics layering this word die with both some Black Licorice and Smooth White Card Stock Strips.
