Kangaroo Crew | MFT Stamps May Release Countdown Day 2

Hello everyone!  There are only two more days until the newest release from MFT Stamps becomes available!  I'm showcasing an adorable stamp set today called Kangaroo Crew.

How cute are these sweet little kangaroos?!  I really wanted to use all of them, so I created a slimline card so that I could fit all four of them easily into my scene.

Australian Sunset

I also wanted to feature my kangaroo crew with an Australian sunset in the background and was inspired by this photo for my background color scheme.

I used a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and blended some Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Ripe Persimmon, and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide Inks.  I then splattered this ink blend lightly with water and let it sit for one minute.  Once ready, I lightly patted it dry with a paper towel and then splattered it again with Opaque White Paint and Black Watercolor Paint.

I then trimmed this piece down to 8.25" x 3.25" and adhered it onto a white card base of 8.5" x 3.5".  This will fit perfectly into a #8 envelope but will also fit well into a standard US sized business envelope.  I stamped all of my images with Copic friendly Black Ink and colored them with Copic Sketch Markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

I diecut a grass strip from Sour Apple Card Stock using the Grassy Edges Die-namics and blended it lightly with both Sour Apple and Field Day Premium Dye Inks.  I also cut a fun little tree for some added interest using the new Branch Out Die-namics and Kraft, Sour Apple, and Jellybean Green Card Stock.

I heat embossed my sentiment with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black Licorice Card Stock and then used the new Skinny Strips Die-namics to cut it out.

  7. Aw Rachel, I am so glad to have hopped by your blog today. I do appreciate slimline cards, and your scene in this particular card is fabulously first class from head to tail!
Where I live we do have the odd kangaroo leaping beside a moving vehicle upon the freeway. You'd be surprised that one does not need to travel too far outback to see these hoppers. Kangaroos are generally quite docile in character.
Thanks for sharing this fab card today. I surely love it. Cheers!
