Beach For the Stars | MFT Stamps Color Challenge #117

Hello friends!

I love attempting the Color Challenges from MFT Stamps.  They don't always come easily to me, and I like to push myself to come up with something that works.  That being said, this simple design actually took me quite awhile because I tend to totally overthink clean and simple cards, lol.  But hey, we all have those moments, right???

I started by stamping my little crab image from the Beach Buds Stamp Set with Copic friendly Black Ink.  I then colored him with Copics and cut him out with the coordinating Beach Buds Die-namics.

The color palette for this challenge is Tangy Orange, Kraft, Tropical Teal, and After Midnight.  You don't have to use exactly the colors shown here but just similar colors that these inspire you to use.

For my background, I trimmed a piece of Tropical Teal Card Stock to 4" x 5.25" and added both a strip of After Midnight Card Stock and Smooth White Card Stock on top.  I then adhered this entire panel to my A2 sized white card base.

I blended some Kraft Premium Dye Ink onto a circle piece of Smooth White Card Stock and then added a circular frame (also in white) from the LLD Circle Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics.  I then placed all of this on top of a small rectangular piece of Vellum Paper that I had cut using the A2 Stitched Rectangle Die-namics Set #2.  Prior to piecing it all together, I had heat embossed my sentiment onto the Vellum using Fine Detail White Embossing Powder.

This color challenge will go on for the next two weeks so come along and play with us for a chance to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher!  Head on over to the MFT Blog for more inspiration and the link to enter your creations.

Thank you all so much for stopping by!  If you liked this card and want some more crafty inspiration, don't forget to check out my INSTAGRAM feed!

  2. This here Beach Bud crab is incredibly cute coupled with a soupçon of cool. I am so glad to see vellum make a come back; it is so versatile and never fails to dress up a card. It monochromes colour and softens their blend. This card is cute and equally cleverly constructed. TFS, Rachel. Cheers from Australia.
