Spotlight Poppies Card Kit Day 1 | MFT Stamps

Hello, friends!  I am so excited to share with you the Spotlight Poppies Card Kit from My Favorite Things!  This gorgeous set allows for quick and easy ways to create floral cards.

I went with a non-traditional Poppy color for my card today.  I started by heat embossing the background Poppy Stamp with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Wild Wisteria Prestige Card Stock.

I then diecut this piece with the Elegant Rectangle STAX Die-namics.  I diecut another piece of card stock in white with this same die set to lay underneath my first layer.  I then adhered these two pieces together and then attached them to a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of Kraft Card Stock.

Once I had the background portion complete, I then stamped a single Poppy onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and colored it with some purple Copic colors (V000, V01, V04, V06, V09).  I used the coordinating Poppy Die-namics to cut this single bloom out.

I attached the bloom to my card with 3D Foam Squares, overlapping it's exact image that I had heat embossed from the background stamp.  I also adhered my word die-namics "Thank You" sentiment that I had cut from some Grape Jelly Card Stock.  Lastly, I added a few clear drops for some added interest.

The Spotlight Poppies Card Kit will be available this coming Tuesday, May 21st, at 10 AM EDT.  You can either purchase the kit as a special bundle price while supplies last or as individual items at regular price.  Make sure to stop by the MFT Blog for more kit inspiration and leave a comment there for a chance to win a $25 MFT Gift Voucher!

Silly Sloths | Sunny Studio Stamps

Hello and Happy Friday everyone!  I have a fun card to share with you a card using the adorable Silly Sloths Stamp Set from Sunny Studio Stamps.

These sloths are just the cutest!  I created a slimline card measuring 8.5" tall by 3.5" wide so that I could fit as many of the sloths as possible.  This sized card fits perfectly into a #8 sized envelope but will also fit easily into the standard US Business Envelope.

To start, I first created my background by blending some Distress Oxide Inks (Antique Linen, Twisted Citron, and Mowed Lawn) onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock.  I then loosely splattered this ink blending with water and allowed it to stand for a minute before gently blotting it dry with a paper towel.

I then splattered this panel with diluted Opaque White Paint and Black and Green Watercolor Paints.  My images were all stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto another sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, colored with Copic Sketch Markers and diecut with the coordinating Silly Sloths Dies.  I also added one more branch from the A Bird's Life Stamp Set for the sleeping sloth to lay on.

MFT Stamps | Birthday Project Challenge

Hello everyone!  For this month's Birthday Project Challenge from My Favorite Things, it's all about adding candles to you cards.

I decided to use the adorable chicks and their cupcake filled with candles from the Birdie Brown Birthday Chicks Stamp Set.  I love how festive these images look!

To start, I first created my background by blending some Distress Oxide Inks (Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, and Tumbled Glass) onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock.  I then splattered this panel lightly with water and then gently blotted it dry with a clean paper towel after letting it sit for about a minute.  I also splattered it with diluted Opaque White Ink, and both Black and Gold Watercolor Ink.

Once dry, I then blended in some grass using the Grassy Edges Stencil and some Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink.  Next, I trimmed this panel down to 4" x 5.25" and adhered it to an A2 top folding white card base.  All of my images were stamped with Copic friendly Black Ink onto a separate sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, colored with Copics and cut out with the Birthday Chicks coordinating dies.

I stamped my sentiment with Black Ink onto the upper left section of my card and attached all of my images using some 3D Foam Adhesive Squares.

Best Wishes and Bubble Kisses | MFT Stamps WSC #437

Hello friends!  The latest Sketch Challenge from My Favorite Things is so much fun!

I decided to use the circles in today's sketch as bubbles.  The Birdie Brown Bubble Over With Joy Stamp Set was perfect for this!

I started by blending some Distress Oxide Inks (Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, and Tumbled Glass) for a whimsical looking sky.  I splattered this blending lightly with water to help the colors merge softly together and then splattered it again with some Opaque White Paint.

I stamped my bunny with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copics (0, C00, C1, C2, C4; BV000, BV01, BV02, BV04, BV13).  I colored the bubbles following THIS awesome tutorial by Mindy Baxter.

I added some grass by diecutting some Sour Apple Card Stock with the Grassy Fields Die-namics.  Lastly, I added all of my images using some 3D Foam Adhesive Squares and applied a small layer of Glossy Accents over the bubbles to give them a more rounded and 3D appearance.

What will you create for this week's sketch?  Come play along for a chance to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher!  Make sure to stop by the MFT Blog for more inspiration from the rest of the participating DT Members.

I Love You, Momma | Picket Fence Studios

Happy Mother's Day!  I hope this day is one that is enjoyable to you.  I know so many people that this day is filled with heartache.  I'd like to share a Mother's Day Card (or really can be used any day) featuring the I Love You, Momma Stamp Set.

I just love the sweet serenity that this set portrays.  This set is pretty versatile too.  You can mix and match a variety of sentiments that can be used for many other occasions.

 I love you, momma

I stamped my images with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and colored it with some Cool Gray Copics (0, C00, C1, C2, C4). I then used the I Love You, Momma Dies to cut them out.

For my background, I blended some Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, and Dusty Concord Distress Oxide Inks using the Life Changing Ink Blender Brushes (which are AMAZING!).

Once blended, I splattered this panel with some water and let it sit for a minute before gently blotting it with a dry paper towel.  I added some splatters of both diluted Opaque White and Black Watercolor Paints.

Once my panel was dry, I then stamped some grass with green ink using the Grass Stamp Set and then trimmed it down to 5.25" x 4.0" and adhered it to a white vertical A2 sized base.

Lastly, I added my images with some 3D Foam Squares for some added dimension and adhered my sentiment that I had heat embossed onto a strip of black card stock with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder.

Frilly Frames Stripes Dies | Sunny Studio Stamps

Hello and happy Friday!  I have a fun little card today featuring the new Frilly Frames Stripes Dies combined with both the Home Sweet Gnome and Backyard Bugs Stamp Sets from Sunny Studio Stamps.

I love how this particular Frilly Frame just adds so much to the card and makes the images inside of it just pop as the focal point.  To start, I first made the base of my card by trimming some Kraft Card Stock and then layering it with a Frilly Frame diecut from white card stock and then a smaller piece of light blue card stock.

I added some beautiful stitched clouds in the background by using the new Fluffy Clouds Dies and then diecut two strips of grass using the Sunny Sentiments Dies. Once cut to size, I then lightly blended these two grass strips with various shades of green ink.

I stamped images from both the Backyard Bugs Stamps as well as the Home Sweet Gnome Set with some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  I colored all of my images with Copics and then cut them out.  Lastly, I stamped my sentiment onto the bottom of the card and then adhered my images with both liquid adhesive and 3D Foam Adhesive Squares.

Beach For the Stars | MFT Stamps Color Challenge #117

Hello friends!

I love attempting the Color Challenges from MFT Stamps.  They don't always come easily to me, and I like to push myself to come up with something that works.  That being said, this simple design actually took me quite awhile because I tend to totally overthink clean and simple cards, lol.  But hey, we all have those moments, right???

I started by stamping my little crab image from the Beach Buds Stamp Set with Copic friendly Black Ink.  I then colored him with Copics and cut him out with the coordinating Beach Buds Die-namics.

The color palette for this challenge is Tangy Orange, Kraft, Tropical Teal, and After Midnight.  You don't have to use exactly the colors shown here but just similar colors that these inspire you to use.

For my background, I trimmed a piece of Tropical Teal Card Stock to 4" x 5.25" and added both a strip of After Midnight Card Stock and Smooth White Card Stock on top.  I then adhered this entire panel to my A2 sized white card base.

I blended some Kraft Premium Dye Ink onto a circle piece of Smooth White Card Stock and then added a circular frame (also in white) from the LLD Circle Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics.  I then placed all of this on top of a small rectangular piece of Vellum Paper that I had cut using the A2 Stitched Rectangle Die-namics Set #2.  Prior to piecing it all together, I had heat embossed my sentiment onto the Vellum using Fine Detail White Embossing Powder.

This color challenge will go on for the next two weeks so come along and play with us for a chance to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher!  Head on over to the MFT Blog for more inspiration and the link to enter your creations.
