MFT March Release Countdown Day 2!

Hello friends!  Only two more days until the MFT March Release!  All products will be available on Tuesday, March 6th at 9:00 PM EST.  I'm back today to share another fun new stamp set.  For today's card, I used the Love You Furever Set.  This set is full of cute little cats/kittens and some fun sayings.

I went with a shadow box card today to create a fun little 3D scene of a quaint living room full of cats.  To start, I stamped my images onto smooth white card stock, colored with Copics and diecut them with the coordinating dies. I used both the LJD Make Yourself At Home and BB Our Story stamp sets for the furniture.

For the box itself, I used a single sheet of Tropical Teal Prestige Card Stock and added a piece of patterned paper from the Hearts & Stripes Paper Pack for the background wallpaper.

This shadow box fits perfectly into an A2 sized envelope when folded and measures a 4.25" square box when opened.  To create something similar, I've listed the measurements below.

A2 Shadow Box Card Measurements
  • Cut 2 pieces of of card stock at 4.25" x 6.75"
  • Score each piece at 1.25" and 5.5" inches on the long side
  • Diecut some shape (I used a square) in one of these pieces to create a window
  • These two pieces with then fit together (folds overlapping and attached on the sides) to create a perfect 4.25" box (** Leave one side unglued until after the inner shelves are attached to the side of the box that is already glued together **)
  • For the inside "shelves", cut three pieces of card stock (varying heights) at 5" long.  Score all pieces at 3/8" and 4 5/8" long.  These will attach to the inside sides of the box.

To add a little bit of contrast, I diecut and attached a white scalloped square frame using the Stitched Square Scallop Edge Frame Die-namics.  I also diecut a sentiment strip using the Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strip Die-namics Set.  I then stamped my sentiment to this strip and attached it to my card.

I'll be back tomorrow for one more day of sneak peaks with some more new products!  Don't forget to head on over to the MFT Blog to see what the other design team members have created and to enter for another chance to win $75!

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy stamping!

Rachel
