Dinosaur Pop-up Card - MFT March Release Replay

Hello and welcome to the MFT March Release Replay!  This is a fun post where the Design Team is challenged to take a fresh look at the newest release and come up with some new and inspiring projects.

I made two projects to share with you today.  The first is a pop-up card with a double floating-floor.  I've been wanting to create something like this for awhile now and I found the perfect tutorial HERE by Karen Burniston.  I must also mention, this card was really not that difficult to make!  It may look like a lot of effort, but if you have a steady hand and can cut a few small holes with an exacto/craft knife, then the rest is honestly easy!

Card Inside

I used both the Delightful Dinosaurs Stamp Set and the Volcano die-namics to create this effect.  I used the Volcano as the center focal point of my card and added the dinosaurs in various positions across the rest of the card.

All of my images were stamped with black ink onto smooth white card stock and colored with Copics.  I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I also added some Palm Trees from the Jungle Vibes Set.  I thought that these trees worked perfectly with the dinosaurs and I love being able to utilize multiple stamp sets so that I get a lot of use out of what I own.

Card Front

Believe it or not, this actual folds in half into a standard A2 sized card that fits into an A2 sized envelope.  So much fun!  You can watch my video below to see just how this works.

For my second project, I used the Elegant Rectangles to create a fun fishbowl card.  Again, I love to be able to combine sets and these rectangles worked perfectly with the Exquisite Ocean and Ocean Fun Stamp Sets that were released earlier last year.

I used the largest Elegant Rectangle Die to Cut out two fishbowl shaped bases for my card and attached them so that the card would fold open and shut.  I then used two of the rectangles (different sizes) to diecut about 8 fishbowl frames.  I glued 7 of them together to create some depth and added this frame to my base.  I then blended some Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks to create my water and embossed some "sea foliage" with white embossing powder.  I also diecut a few pieces of vellum and green cardstock with the Fab Foliage Die-namics.

Lastly, I added my shaker embellishments and a clear piece of acetate to the top of my card.  I then glued my last frame (with my sentiment) on top of all of this and let it dry.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Visit the MFT Blog to see what great ideas the rest of the team has come up with!

Happy Stamping!
