Donuts2stamp - The Stamps of Life

Can you believe that it's August already?  That means there's a new Stamp of The Month over at The Stamps of Life!  This month, the stamp set is called donuts2stamp and it's so delicious!  It also has a fun coordinating die set that will be available to all non-club members on the 20th of this month.

How cute it this set?!  I love the option to either stamp a large or a small donut and the sprinkles are such a great embellishment.

My first example that I'd like to show you is a single layered card that I achieved from simply masking, stamping and coloring.  The masking took a little bit of time and I did have to try it twice before I got a design similar to what I was looking for.

Here's a quick photo tutorial that shows you how to mask and stamp.  It's a little bit tedious to fussy cut the donuts, but not difficult.

I colored my donuts with Copic Sketch Markers.  I used the following colors:

Chocolate Icing: E25, E27, E47, E49; Light Donut Bottoms: E41, E31, E55, E57; Dark Donut Bottoms: E71, E77, E79; White Icing: 0, C00, C0, C2; Pink Icing: RV000, RV00, RV11, RV13

For my second card, I used only the diecuts and some ink pads to create my donuts.  The cute base of the card was diecut using the Sizzix Triple Square Flip-its Card Die Set on white cardstock.  I used the SOL Darling Collection Patterned Paper for the panels.  This is one of my favorite patterned paper pads.  There are so many soft and beautiful patterns to choose from.

I tied a pink ribbon to one of the front panels of the card and added a tag with a stamped sentiment using the Sizzix Tags & Words Stamps & Dies Set.  For the inside sentiment, I diecut a stitched oval and used one of the sentiments from the donuts2stamp stamp set.

I really love the look of ink blending on die cuts.  It adds so much more dimension to your project and with a little practice and light hand, it's not a hard look to achieve.

If you look at the photo above, I first diecut my pieces, added my ink, pieced everything together and was done!

Lastly, I made another single layer card using masking and coloring.  I paired the Coffee4two stamp set with the Donuts2stamp Stamp Set to create this card.

I again used my Copic Sketch Markers to color this.  The colors that I used are as follows:

Chocolate Icing: E74, E77, E79; Donut Bottom: E41, E31, E55, E57; Beige Part on Coffee Cup: E81, E42, E43; Green Part on Coffee Cup: YG61, YG63, YG67; Coffee Cup Lid: 0, W0, W1, W3

I will be entering this card into the following challenge:
