MFT - April Card Kit Countdown Day 1

Hello friends!  It's time for a new Card Kit from My Favorite Things!  You're going to love it!

It's called the Stitched Blooms Kit and it's full of beautiful stitched flower die-namics.  I've made two cards to share with you today.  The first is a Mother's Day Card full of bright bold flowers.  I did some messy water coloring on these flowers and splattered them with some gold, white and black ink for some added interest.

Although hard to see in the pictures, I added some Texture Crackle Paste for the background of each card using the Geometric Grid Stencil.  I used the Mom Die-namics for the bold MOM sentiment and diecut it from Silver Sparkle Paper.  I also diecut the letters from foam and placed the foam cuts beneath so that the sentiment would pop up off of the card.  Lastly, I added some Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops in the center of each flower.

My second card showcases the flowers with some Distress Oxide Inks (Squeezed Lemonade, Shaded Lilac & Wilted Violet) that I blended onto smooth white Card Stock, spritzed with some water and then diecut each flower.  I used the More Essentials Stamp Set for the sentiment that I heat embossed with Super Fine Detail White Embossing Powder onto some Black Licorice Card Stock.

I added some Crushed Grapes Nuvo Drops into the centers of the purple flowers and some Ivory Seashell Crystal Nuvo Drops into the centers of the yellow flowers.  I also added a few glossy accents on top of some of the flowers.

The Stitched Blooms Card Kit will be available this Tuesday, April 24th at 9:00 PM EST.  All links with new products will be active at this time.

  4. Love both cards and enjoyed hearing how you created each one. As someone who usually colors everything - this kit appeals because you can make stunning cards using the dies only, as you have clearly shown. Thanks for the inspiration and taking me out of my comfort zone.

    1. Thank you for your sweet comments, Maureen! I usually color everything too so using only dies is out of my comfort zone too, lol. However, these dies were actually super easy to use and you really can’t go wrong when putting the flowers together. ☺️💗
