You Make My Life Magical - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 396

Hello friends!  There's a new Wednesday Sketch Challenge up at My Favorite Things!  It's so much fun to see the new sketch layout every week.  Before I ever knew about these challenges, I found myself using similar card layouts from day to day.  The fun part about participating in the Weekly Sketch Challenges is that you get to try new layouts that you would have never thought of and to really push your creativity.

For my card this week, I used the BB Magical Dragons Set to create a fun mystical scene.  For my sky background, I blended some Distress Inks (Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch) onto some smooth white card stock.  I then spritzed this lightly with water, blotted with a paper towel and allowed it to dry.

For my images, I stamped them onto Smooth White Card Stock, colored with Copic Sketch Markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I added some clouds by cutting some White Card Stock with the Stitched Cloud Edges Die-namics.

For my sentiment, I diecut a strip of Steel Grey Card Stock with the largest Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics and heat embossed it with Super Fine Detail White Embossing Powder.  I added everything to an A2 sized white card base to finish it off.

Here's a look at this week's Sketch Layout.  I encourage you to give it a go and enter the challenge!  Every week one entry is picked randomly to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher.  You never know, it could be you!

Also, make sure to stop by the MFT Challenge & Inspiration Blog to check out the rest of the designs by the participating Design Team Members!

  1. Adorable card, Rachel. I really like the colors and your style of coloring allows for wonderfully saturated colors. The detail on the dragons with the dots is wonderful. I am getting more comfortable working with sketches these days. I used to shy away from them completely. :) Thanks for inspiring with your creativity and talent.
