"Let's Party!" Flamingos
So, the theme for this month's club stamp set at The Stamps of Life is flamingos! 'Flamingos2stamp' also have coordinating dies and two more sets of coordinating stamps! All of the sets aren't necessary, but they give you a lot of cute options to work with.
This card was pretty simple to create. The most time consuming part was coloring all of the flamingos. But honestly, if you like to color, it's really not that tedious at all! I'm one of those people that could sit there and color all day if I could. Obviously, I don't have the time to do that (who does?!), but I definitely take advantage of those moments where we have "craft time" at home and my kids all sit down at their little Ikea table and draw pictures or make their own cards for their friends and family members. I'm still trying to teach my one-year-old that we draw with the crayons and don't eat them....
Anyway, I had fun putting this card together. I went with the Sizzix Basic Step-ups Die Set for the base of my card. I definitely get a lot of use out of this die set. As I've said before, it's perfect for adding a lot of dimension to your cards without having to use foam tape (you still can if you want!). I used some patterned paper from this month's "Thank You" Card Kit Club from The Stamps of Life. I went with this pattern because it reminded me of a sunset and I thought that it matched well with my beach theme. I decided to have most of my flamingos standing in the ocean. You can't really see them in the photo, but I cut and added some sand dunes in the background where the other two flamingos are peeking out. I die cut the palm trees and set them in the back of my card. Lastly, I added a cute little sun and the "Let's Party" sentiment. I'm planning on giving this to my Aunt for her birthday since she adores the beach.

Ladybug Birthday Card
Hello! Today, I wanted to share with you a sweet little card that I designed for my lil' sister's birthday. I had a lot of fun making this card for her! For the base, I used the Sizzix Playful Flip-its Die Set. I think that I am in love with this set! It's probably just me, but when I first saw this die set, I wasn't sure that there would be enough room to put anything other than words/sentiments on the triple center portions. But the ladybugs fit perfectly! And after making this card, I realized that there are a bunch of other cute little stamps out there that would work just as well! I used the Sizzix Rectangle/Gift Card Flip-its Die Set for the flower with the "drop in" sentiment and the mini4circles stamp set by The Stamps of Life for the Happy Birthday sentiment. I added some grass, leaves and mini ladybugs for the final touch. The cute black & white polka dot patterned paper came from this month's "Thank You" Card Club Kit from the Stamps of Life. I'm looking forward to using this base die-set again. It's pretty easy to use and unlike my original thinking, the options are endless!

Dogs in a Box Birthday Card!
I just love the new set of dog stamps (friends4cookie) released this month by The Stamps of Life! They are so much fun! Right away, I had a bunch of ideas of different cards that I would like to make using this set. The problem is finding the time to make all of them! However, I had the opportunity to use them since we were invited to celebrate the birthday of our friend's sweet little 3-year old boy this weekend. I wanted something bright and cheerful and decided to use the Stamps of Life Box Card Die Set as my base to give my card a lot of dimension. I added some fun patterned paper around the sides of the card and some grass cutouts on the inside. I simply stamped, colored and die cut the dogs and placed them each in a different section inside the box. I added some balloons and party hats (hat style 1) (hat style 2) and was done! The nice thing about this stamp set, if you do not like to color, you can simply stamp the dogs on colored cardstock instead! It's super easy!

Cherries 2 Stamp
Hello! I'd love to share with you a cute new set of stamps that came out last month by The Stamps of Life. Cherries2stamp! There are also coordinating dies and stamp sets that allow you to be super creative. For the base of my card, I used the Sizzix Basic Step-ups Card Die Set and Make A Wish Collection Patterned Paper. For the rest, I simply stamped and colored the cherries with my copic markers, cut and adhered them to my base with 3D foam adhesive. The sweet little sentiment is part of the sayings4cherries stamp set. I used my stitched oval dies to display the sentiment next to the bowl of cherries. This card would make a great Thank You card for those "sweet" people in your life!
For this second card, I used the same cherry stamps and dies as above but I die-cut my base with the Sizzix Kind Sentiments Step-ups Card Die Set instead.

Shaker Balloon Box Card
Hello! It's been a busy few weeks trying to finish my oldest son's first year of homeschooling. We're almost done! Talk about a challenge...and it's only kindergarten! But THAT is a whole story of its own....
On another note, my youngest niece celebrates her first birthday this week! I had a lot of fun creating this shaker balloon box card for her. Obviously, she won't really get to enjoy it (she might try to eat it) but nonetheless, I wanted something bright and cherry to send her to celebrate her special day.
The box card die set that I used is exclusively sold by The Stamps of Life. This set is packed with over 35 dies! (I lost count after that). However, for this card, I only used three of them!
For the balloons, I used the Sizzix Triplits Hot Air Balloon Die Set. I decided to make them shaker balloons to make them a little more "fun". Those cute little clouds were die cut using the Sizzix Triplits Hello Sunshine Die Set. As you can probably tell by my other cards, I just LOVE all of the triplits sets designed by Stephanie Barnard. For the edges of the box, I gave them a stitched cloud border using the Puffy Cloud Borders by Lawn Fawn. Lastly, I stamped and then heat embossed the sentiment with the Happy Birthday banner stamp from the "morechalksayings2stamp" stamp set by Stephanie Barnard. I wanted the sentiment to be sweet and simple since the rest of the card had a lot going on.
Believe it or not, this card shipped pretty easily. I usually make my own envelopes to fit whatever card I'm sending and then pack it in a bubble mailer if there are a lot of delicate embellishments. I haven't had a problem yet!

Happy Mother's Day!
Sometimes I think that I would be a better mom if I were more like my own mother. She is one of the most selfless people that I know. She is also one of the most loving, understanding and patient people out there. There were 6 of us growing up. We weren't poor but we didn't have much. To be honest, we never really noticed because we were showered with love. Thanks to my mom (and my dad who worked many long hours) we never went hungry. We never felt like we were missing out on anything. If we were sick, sad or discouraged, we always knew that our mom would have our back. She still does! She lives over 1,000 miles away but thanks to cell phones and FaceTime, we are able to keep up on a daily basis. I always know who to go to when I need advice with raising my own children! I am so blessed to have her in my life!
I made this card for her using the Sizzix Square #2 Flip-its Card Set for my base. I cut the flowers using the Sizzix Triplits Flowers #2 Die Set on various patterned paper. I used the leaves from Sizzix's Rectangle/Gift Card Flip-its Die Set, but really, almost any leaf die would work. The pink little flourish in the background was from My Favorite Things. I simply added some pink twine, stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and voila! Hoping to get this out in the mail tomorrow!
Thanks for looking! Wishing you all a very happy and blessed Mother's Day!
