Aloha - MFT Sketch Challenge 375

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I hope you all are having a wonderful week so far!

It's time for a new MFT Weekly Wednesday Sketch Challenge!  The sketch challenges are always a favorite of mine.

I went with a summer-theme for my take on this week's sketch.  I love the beach, so this set (BB Polynesian Paradise) is an absolute favorite of mine.  I stamped all of my images with black ink onto smooth white card stock.  I then colored with Copics and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I also added a sun from the BB Magical Unicorns Set.

Copic Colors Used:
  • Skin: E50, E51, E21, E11 and E13 for shading
  • Hair: C5, C7, 100
  • Blue Top: B21, B23, B26
  • Greens: YG01,YG06, YG25, YG67
  • Yellow Flowers: Y04, E21, E31
  • Beach/Sand: E31, E55, E57 (Dots E13, E29)

For the base of my card, I used the Neenah Environment - Dessert Storm 100 lb paper.  To create my beach scene background, I masked off everything except a rectangular area in the center of my card. I then blended Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink and spritzed it with water for the sky.  I colored the beach sand with Copics.  I diecut this entire piece with the Stitched Rectangle Die-namics and used foam tape to adhere it to my card.  I also used foam squares to attach all of my images.  Lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment with Black Super Fine Embossing Powder and added some Ivory Nuvo Crystal Drops to the center of each flower.
