Woodland Critters Boxcard - Pretty Pink Posh

Hello friends!  I just love the newly released Woodland Critters Stamp Set by Pretty Pink Posh.  It's just too cute!  I paired this set with the PPP Bold Blooms, Thoughtful Greetings and Birdie Friends Stamp Sets to create this fun pop-up 3D Box Card.

I started off by stamping all of my images onto white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then coloring them with Copic Sketch Markers (all colors used are listed at the bottom of this blog post).  I used all of the coordinating dies to cut out my images.

For the base of the card, I used a piece of 12"x 12" light green cardstock and followed this tutorial by Splitcoaststampers to create my box.

After that part, the rest is pretty simple!  I diecut some pieces of grass using the MFT Die-namics Grassy Fields Die Set and then adhered my critters.  I just love how it looks like they're having a little get-together in the woods. :0)

I stamped the sentiment from the Thoughtful Sentiments Stamp Set.  I made this card for my mom (who is one of my best friends).  Sadly, we don't get to see each other often because we live about 1,000 miles apart.  But, we talk/text often enough that the distance gap doesn't seem as far.

I hope you enjoyed my card today!  I will be entering this card into both the Simon Says Monday Challenge: Little Critters and the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Furry Friends.

Have a wonderful day!

Mini Pillow Box Die Set - The Stamps of Life

Hello!  I'd love to share with you the adorable new Mini Pillow Box Die Set that was just released this morning at The Stamps of Life.  It's so cute and perfect for smaller party favors or gifts!  It's similar to the Large Pillow Box Die Set that was released last year, just a miniature version.  For the above sample, I used the Mini Pillow Box Die Set, TSOL Mini Flower Dies, and the Sizzix Friends Forever Step-ups Card Die Set for the black flower wrap-around.

I made a few examples using this die set.  I will simply list the items used, since the die is pretty self explanatory and super easy to use.

Sizzix Tree Step-ups Card & Sizzix Gift Fold-it Die Sets - The Stamps of Life

Hello!  I'd love to share with you today a few cards that I made using some newly released Sizzix products.  Although they have been available on the Sizzix website for the past few months, they were just released this morning at The Stamps of Life for a discounted flash-sale price!  The first set is the Sizzix Tree Step-ups Card Die Set.  This set is super adorable!  I used it to create this "Hello Neighbor" Card (above).  I also paired this card with the Houses4us Stamp Set and the Sizzix Flowers & Fence Stamps & Dies (for my fence).

Here is my second version of this die set.  This time, I paired it with the Bicycle2stamp Stamp & Die Set from The Stamps of Life.  So much fun!  More examples of this die set can be found HERE.

Lastly, I made a few quick and easy cards using the Sizzix Gift Fold-it Card Die Set.  Each card only took about 5 minutes to make!

I added a bold flower to the front of this card using the Sizzix Flower Layers & Leaf Framelits Die Set and used the SOL "Sunshine" Collection Patterned Paper for my background design.

For this Gift Fold-it Card, I paired it with the Sizzix Triplits Tag Set and the SOL "Me & You" Collection Patterned Paper.  Super easy and so much fun!  You can check out more Gift Fold-it Card Examples HERE on The Stamps of Life Gallery Page

I will be playing along and entering my "Hello Neighbor" Card into the Simon Says Monday Challenge: Home Sweet Home

More Spring Flowers Mother's Day Card - Simon Says Stamp

Hello crafty friends!  Mother's Day is quickly approaching and being a mother of 3 little ones, I have been so busy that I actually hadn't realized it until this weekend!  I made this card for my Mother-in-Law using the More Spring Flowers Stamp and Die Set by Simon Says Stamp.  I truly love everything about this set!

To start, I first stamped my images onto Canson Watercolor Paper with VersaMark Embossing Ink and then heat embossed with Super Fine White Embossing Powder by Ranger.  Once set, I then colored my flowers using Zig Watercolor brushes and water.  I love the softer look from the watercolors paired with the white embossing powder.

I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4"x5.25" and lightly blended some TSOL Sky Blue Ink onto a portion of my panel.  My sentiment (which I heat embossed with Super Fine Black Embossing Powder) came from the Momanddad2love Stamp Set from The Stamps of Life.  Once I diecut my leaves and flowers, I tried rearranging them onto the white cardstock until I found a layout that I liked and I then either glued or used foam squares to adhere my images to my card base.  Lastly, I added some clear droplets by Pretty Pink Posh and mounted my card onto an A2 sized base of deep purple cardstock.

I will be playing along and entering this card into the following challenges:

Simon Says Monday Challenge: The Great Outdoors

Monsters4Celebrations - The Stamps of Life

Hello friends!  It's another release day from The Stamps of Life and this set is unbelievably cute!  It's called Monsters4celebrations and it is so much fun!  Also, it's available today at a special FLASH SALE PRICE of $7.73 for non-club members and $6.57 for club members!

monsters4celebrations

It also comes with a set of coordinating dies that can be used to either cut out your stamped image or just to diecut your images with no stamping at all.  I have examples of using both, in case you are curious of what each would look like.

For my first card (above), I first stamped my images using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored them with Copic Markers.  I then used the dies to cut them out.  Here is a list of all of the products that I used to create this card.

As you can see, I used a lot of different products on this card, but that's just because I wanted to add more detail.  Honestly, if you wanted to create something similar, you could just get away with using the Monster Stamps & Dies and TSOL Box Card and have a similar type 3D Box Card in no time!

For my next card, I wanted to make it more "girly".  You won't believe how many girls like monsters too!  My daughter (she's 4) loved this card and wanted a "Girl Monster" Birthday Party after she saw it, lol.  For this card, I didn't stamp the monster at all!  I simply diecut the front image (which is also embossed once cut) out of TSOL Guava Cardstock and then its shadow out of white cardstock.  I added some googly eyes, a flower and....tada!  You now have a cute little girl monster!

I have a few more samples to share with you.  I will just simply list the products that I used for each one.  If you have any questions about anything, please don't hesitate to either message me or leave a comment below!

Squirrel2stamp - The Stamps of Life

Hello friends!  Have you seen the new Stamp of the Month released a few days ago at The Stamps of Life?  It's called Squirrel2stamp and it also has a set of coordinating dies.  This set is super cute since it can be used for almost any theme.

Usually, when I see a squirrel stamp set, I think "Fall".  However, this set is not only perfect for fall but for other seasons as well!  You can put almost anything into his little wagon and create whatever genre you'd like!

For my first card (above), I used stamping, masking and coloring to achieve a simple single-layered card.  I first stamped my squirrel with his wagon on some white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  I then stamped this image again onto masking paper, fussy cut it and then covered the squirrel with this mask.  Once the squirrel and wagon were covered, I stamped the grass using a mix of TSOL Kiwi and Green Apple Ink.  Lastly, I used this same technique to stamp the acorns into the back of the wagon.  Once the stamping was complete, I colored everything using Copic Markers.

For this next card, I used a fun technique shared by Jennifer McGuire in this wonderful video tutorial.  In this video, she beautifully shows you how to create a card using a hidden slider.  It's super fun!  For my background, I diecut some clouds (pretty much any cloud or cloud border would work), placed them on white cardstock and used my finger sponge dauber over the top border of my cut out clouds using a small upward movement (very important!) and TSOL Sky Ink.  As you can see in the photo, the areas that you temporarily placed your clouds should still remain white while the areas that you sponged will be blue. I apologize for my lack of photos this time to help explain this technique!

The fun part of this card is that once you pull the tab, the squirrel moves along with his wagon and a hidden message is revealed!

Lastly, I created a Step-ups card using the Sizzix Kind Sentiments Step-ups Card Die Set.  I stamped, colored & diecut my squirrel and then diecut a bunch of hearts on pink cardstock before gluing them into his wagon.

I will be entering some of these cards into the Simon Says Monday Challenge: The Great Outdoors.

Beautiful Statement Set & Sizzix Cupcake Fold-It

Hello friends!  There are two new flash sale items available today at The Stamps of Life!  The first, that I'd like to share with you, is called the Beautiful Statement Set.  This set includes both two dies and a variety of stamp sentiments and is exclusive to The Stamps of Life.

I just love all of the variations that you can do with this set.  It's so versatile and that word die is absolutely gorgeous!

For my first card, I started off by creating my stand-up base with the Sizzix Playful Stand-ups Card Die Set.  I then added some patterned paper and sponged some SOL Seaglass Ink along the edges.  I did the same with the flowers but used Lemonade Ink for the yellow portion of the flower and Kiwi Ink for sponging around the edges of the leaves.  It's not a necessary step, but I feel that it adds a bit more depth and life to your diecuts.

I used the Sizzix Triplits Dragonfly to diecut some dragonflies from white cardstock.  On the second layer,  I once again blended some Seaglass Ink around the edges.  For the wings, I simply diecut my second layer again from 40lb Vellum and fussy cut the body away from the wings.  I then glued the wings to each dragonfly and folded them slightly upward.

Here is a second example using the Beautiful Statement Set paired with mums2stamp and moremums2love.  I colored the flower using TSOL Markers  Set 1 and Set 2 and some water after I embossed it on water color paper with gold embossing powder.

The second item that I wanted to share with you today is the Sizzix Cupcake Fold-it.  This die creates a cupcake that fits into an A2 sized envelope perfectly.  It is super easy to use and makes very cute cupcake cards/invitations pretty quickly.

This card came together very quickly.  All I did was use some SOL patterned paper, ribbon and blended a little bit of Candy Ink along the edges of my "frosting".

I did pretty much the same thing for this second one, except that I embossed some flowers onto white carstock using the flowerpower4backgrounds stamp and clear embossing powder.  I then used the SOL Chocolate Ink over the top so that my flowers would be white and my frosting would be brown/chocolate.

And lastly, this card literally took me 5 minutes to make.  I simply used some brown cardstock, patterned paper, white felt and voila!

I will be entering some of these into The Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.
