Sizzix Happy Birthday and Horiztonal Drop-in Dies

Happy Wednesday!  There is a FLASH SALE going on today (2/15) over at The Stamps of Life!  Two brand new Sizzix Die Sets have been released and they are so much fun!  For my first two cards, I used the Sizzix Horizontal Card Front Drop-in Dies.  For this card, I used the "Thank You" Drop-in option.  I also used the "Kindness" Collection Patterned Paper from The Stamps of Life January Card Kit.  To finish off my card, I simply added a few flowers with some silver pearl drops in the centers.

For this second card, I used the same drop-ins Die Set but used the "Congratulations" drop-in option instead.  I added a few graduation pieces by using the graduation2celebrate stamp set and coordinating dies.  I made this a shaker card by diecutting the drop-in/frame section about 6-7 times and gluing them together before adding my piece of acetate.  The shaker embellishments were from Pretty Pink Posh.

For these next three cards, I used the Sizzix Happy Birthday Card Set with various Stamps of Life patterned paper.  Super fun and easy to create a variety of birthday cards!

I also added a few Shabby Chic Flowers on this birthday card.  The patterned paper came from the "Sunshine" Patterned Paper Collection.

Lastly, for this card, I used both the "Happy" and "Happy Birthday" Patterned Paper Collections from The Stamps of Life.

I will be playing along and entering some of these cards into the following challenges:

Cake2stamp - February Stamps of Life Club Set

Hello crafty friends!  Have you seen the brand new club set that released last week at The Stamps of Life?  It's called cake2stamp and it's so much fun!  Think of all the possibilities that this cake can be used for!  For the card above, I paired the stamp set with its coordinating dies and added some dotted rectangles and patterned paper from the "Me & You" Collection (all from TSOL).  I added some strawberries to the top of my cake using the strawberries2stamp stamp set.  I first stamped the strawberries in very light ink and then colored them with my Copic markers.  Lastly, I fussy cut them and then added some glossy accents to look like glaze.

Isn't this set awesome?  I love all of the cute sentiments, variety of candles and the mini piece of cake.  There is also a coordinating stamp set, called morecake2stamp, that has a variety of patterns that you can stamp into the cake layers.

I used the second stamp set to stamp the polka dot pattern into this cake.  Super easy!  I used white and green felt to cut the miniature flowers and leaves.

This card was also very easy to put together.  After laying my pieces of paper, I added some stitched ovals, my sentiment and a mini piece of cake

For this card, I used the Sizzix Stand Up Circle Die Set for my base and added a few dotted circles and a scalloped circle.  The only stamping that I did in this card was my sentiment and my cake outline.  For the rest of the card, I simply used the Cake2stamp Die Set to die cut both patterned & solid cardstock to create my cake.

Lastly, I used this set to create a fun birthday flip-its card.  The base of the card was made from the Sizzix Triple Fancy Frame Flip-its Card Die Set.  I added some patterned paper for the panels, stamped, colored and cut the cake and added a small birthday hat from the hats4critters stamp set.

You can check out this fun new set at The Stamps of Life website or check out The Stamps of Life Gallery for more card ideas.  Even though this stamp set is a "Club Set", you don't have to be a member to purchase it.

The Stamps of Life - Pop Up Dinosaur Birthday Card

Hello!  I'd love to quickly share this card that I made for my son's 6th birthday.  He has loved dinosaurs since he was 2 years old.  In fact, he loves them so much that one of my friends jokingly refers to him as "Ross" (the Paleontologist) from the show Friends.  He could talk your ear off about all of the different dinosaurs....

All of the products used here are from The Stamps of Life.  There are actually 2 different dinosaur stamp sets, "Dinos2stamp" and "Moredinos2stamp".  Both are absolutely awesome for that dinosaur-lover in your life!  The cake came from the birthday4cookie stamp and coordinating die set.  Also used on the front of the card were both the Sizzix Dotted Rectangle and Stitched Oval Die Sets.

For the inside of the card, I created my own pop up element with my paper trimmer and added patterned paper from The Stamps of Life "Happy" Collection and die cut some grass with TSOL Grass Die.

I will be playing along and entering this card into the Simon Says Monday Challenge: "Pets Corner".  Now, obviously, dinosaurs are not pets, but the challenge is about our love for our animal friends and I couldn't pass it up since my son loves these ancient animals to pieces.

Mini Chevron Background Die - The Stamps of Life

Hello fellow paper crafters!  I know it's been awhile since I last posted anything but I have been super busy working on some fun and super cute upcoming designs from Stephanie Barnard at The Stamps of Life.  I'd like to share with you a few cards that I created using the new Mini Chevron Background Die Set.  I have to be honest, when I first received this die, I was a bit intimidated.  This die is so intricate that I wasn't sure that I'd be able to use it properly.  However, once I ran it through my diecut machine, ideas started coming to me and I realized that this die wasn't going to be as difficult as it looked.  I absolutely LOVE it.

A little tip: If you use this die, because it is so intricate, don't forget to use some adhesive sheets (I use the Sizzix Adhesive Sheets) before you diecut.  It will save you a ton of time and heartache trying to add your own adhesive later.

For my first card, I simply ran the die through my machine three times in different colors (black, white and gold).  I then kept the entire black diecut background together and pieced in the black, gold and white chevron strips in a repetitive pattern.  I then added my bees and beehive that I stamped, colored & fussy cut using the hive4bees stamp set.  It honestly was really easy.

For my second card, I diecut the Mini Chevron Background in white and added it to some black cardstock.  I then added a flower using the flowerpower2fill stamp set and coordinating dies.  I then added a leaf border strip from the Sizzix Friends Forever Step-ups Card Die Set.

Lastly, I used the background die to create an "ocean" look by once again piecing back a few of the chevron blue strips that were left after my first run through my diecutting machine.  I stamped, colored and diecut the whale using the whale2stamp stamp set and coordinating dies.  I added a few cute little red hearts from the Grid Hearts Die Set

I used my Copic sketch markers to color everything in all of my cards today.  Also, just for today only, this Mini Chevron Background Die is available on The Stamps of Life website for a very low flash sale price!

I will be playing along and entering some of these cards into the following challenges:
